Ross realizes that the festival grounds are divided into different "zones" based on horror sub-genres (like vampires, zombies, killer clowns, and hillbillies). To survive, he must use his encyclopedic knowledge of horror movie tropes and "the rules" of survival to navigate these zones, outsmart the killers, and find an escape route.
