(Anushka Shetty), a journalist, tracks him down. She needs him to return to his ancestral village, Solaiyur, to reopen a temple built by his grandfather—a task that, according to local legend, can only be performed by the "true heir". Reluctant but eventually forced by circumstances, Lingaa travels to the village, initially intending only to steal a valuable emerald lingam from the temple.
