Imagine a user searching for a way to reinstall Windows 7 without paying for a license. They stumble upon a forum post: “Here’s everything you need: bit.ly/windows7.txt.” Upon clicking, they may be redirected to a malicious server hosting a file named windows7.txt , which, when opened, prompts them to “Enable macros” or “Run this script as administrator.” If they comply, ransomware, keyloggers, or botnet malware could be installed.
