If the device was previously connected, your router might remember it.
If you manage a ZKTeco biometric attendance or access control system, one of the first challenges is locating all devices on a network. Unlike cloud-based devices, on-premise ZKTeco units don’t automatically announce their IP addresses in an easy-to-read list.
If a device shows as "Offline" in your attendance software, the scanner helps determine if the issue is a physical network break or a configuration error. Pro-Tips for Users
The most reliable way to "scan" for devices is using the official ZKTeco management software.
To locate ZKTeco devices (like biometric attendance or access control terminals) on your local network, use the function within official management software: Software Scan : Open your ZKTeco Software
The scanner uses UDP ports 30388 and 30718. Windows Defender Firewall blocks these by default.
