To write a compelling romantic arc for a repack scenario, you must balance (what was) with Discovery (what is).

"It’s a flickering fire hazard," he replied gently. "We're repacking, remember? Only what fits in the new space. Only what works."

Take your current WIP (work in progress). Identify the most romantic scene. Now, delete it. Write a scene where the characters achieve the same emotional intimacy while doing something utterly banal, utterly difficult, or utterly dangerous. Rip the romance out of the "romance novel" and stitch it into the fabric of your real plot.
