Be wary of "Repack" NSPs found on forums. Many repackers compress the 1.5GB game down to 800MB, stripping the animated intro movies (which are pre-rendered FMVs). The does not compress the videos. A clean Sonic Origins Plus Switch NSP should be roughly 1.4GB for base + 500MB for DLC.

Install the version update next. This updates the engine and prepares the file system for the expansion features.
