While often grouped together, it’s important to distinguish between sexuality and gender identity. LGB (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual) relates to who you love; T (Transgender) relates to who you are. A transgender person’s gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. They may be binary (transgender men and women) or non-binary, genderqueer, or agender, existing outside the traditional male/female divide. This distinction, however, does not mean separation. For decades, transgender people—from Marsha P.
