Since Arma Reforger is available on both Steam and the Xbox/Microsoft ecosystem, it is important to note that modding tools are currently exclusive to the PC (Steam) version. Prerequisites

Step 1: Access Your Steam Library

Troubleshooting: If you do not see "Arma Reforger Tools" in your library list, go to the top menu: View -> Hidden Games or ensure you have "Tools" enabled in your library filters.
Step 2: Installing the Tools
Click on Arma Reforger Tools in your library list. Click the blue Install button. Choose your installation directory (ideally an SSD for faster loading times). Wait for the download to complete.
Step 3: Initial Setup (The Workbench) Once the download is finished, launching the tools for the first time requires a specific setup:
Click Play in Steam to launch Arma Reforger Tools. A window titled "Arma Reforger Tools" will appear with a list of applications. Select Workbench from the list and click Launch . Login: You will be prompted to log in with your Bohemia Interactive account (the same one used for the game). Project Setup: Since Arma Reforger is available on both Steam
The Workbench will likely ask you to select a "Project." For beginners, select the default project: $ArmaReforger . This loads all the base game assets so you can use them as references for your own mods.
Step 4: Critical Next Step (Addon Editor) If you want to create a mod immediately, you cannot simply edit the game files (they are read-only). You must create an "Addon."
