The middle eight breaks into a waltz—3/4 time, unhinged. An accordion (sampled from a ghost fairground) plays alongside a chainsaw being revved in a concrete stairwell. The producer’s note inside the .rar says: “Tambours recorded in the actual Fleury-devant-Douaumont ruins. No reverb added. The echo you hear is geological.”
